My immersion into University and growing passion for Architecture [2015]

This year is already coming to an end, however it’s been full of new beginnings and experiences.

The immersion into Uni life has been extraordinary, I have been able to continually learn and discover more about my dream job (retail architecture). Obsessing over what the world has to offer and expanding my visions with amazingly inspiring people who all have a similar drive.

Spending the pass year in the city almost everyday has allowed me to meet new people and be involved in many projects.

Discovering hidden gems in Adelaide, spending hours in the Art Gallery and walking in the most beautiful buildings with the excuse of being an Architecture student was only the start.

Working with JPE architects and Volunteering in the Festival of Architecture and Design has opened my eyes to the Design industry in Adelaide and nationally.

Plans of renovating a cafe situated in the center of the city with my best friend, and working on it for a few months but having fall through due to financial issues has taught me real life lessons about expectations and not to shake someone’s hand too soon!

Building contacts with inspiring architects and being given the opportunity for work experience in various firms is something I will always cherish.

I have taken little steps towards my dream/vision of working in the Luxury Retail Architecture Industry. Early in the year I was able to attend a speech by Louis Vuitton Architect Eric Carlson from Carbondale based in Paris about the fashion/ architecture industry and what it means in relation to the brand and the public, it gave me so much motivation.

My love for Architecture and Fashion also brought me to working and taking a sneak peak to the Fashion Industry. I was lucky enough to help out at the Night Of Fashion At The Art Gallery hosted by Clique Mag. The CLIQUE team were incredibly generous in letting me in and experience of running a Fashion Show backstage, working with beautiful brands and meeting designers. Being invited back to help as the Styling Assistant for their Summer Issue 2015 photoshoot was an honor.

2016 has a lot of travelling planned and so much more to offer!

I hope many of you had a great year of change and new discoveries, the world seriously is your oyster, keep doing what you love x
