The French Collection 2015-16

Seasonally I receive the latest collection by CHANEL in the mail. The Fall-Winter 2015/16 Ready-to-Wear collection stood out as it embodied the Parisian lifestyle and conveyed a French touch in all his outfits.
The streets of Paris were brought inside the Grand Palais within a bistro environment designed by Karl himself where all 97 models displayed the feminine and sometimes androgynous collection. Gabrielle’s classic colour palette and prints such as navy, beige, black and white, tartan and houndstooth was reintroduced in a modern “bourgeoise” fashion.
Karl known for his revamping of Gabrielle (Coco) Chanels’s original designs was toned down a little and embraced elegance and comfort which Gabrielle swore by. However heavily detailed and intricately cut and designed bomber jackets reminiscent of the Chanel jacket, soft knits and oversized off-the-shoulder sweaters presented a sporty but sophisticated style to the collection. Simultaneously, seductive yet casual aprons were paired with jeans, slim-cut leather pants or tweed dresses in the style of a three-piece suit.
Looking at Karl’s photographs of the collection, the first words that come to my mind are femininity, power, confidence, seduction and ultimate style.
This collection truly shows the French attitude towards the way women dress.
Karl, you did it again!
