How the Puff Ball could have been made

Having spoken to many different people and getting new ideas I spoke to Shane from the Workshop to see what was doable considering my existing skills, the materials, machinery and time we had.

Shane and I spoke of some great and fun ideas:

  • a sponge inside a silicon ball filled with scented powder
  • investigating the talcum powder bottle
  • adding a valve inside the ball
  • making the ball from a mold out of silicon
  • or harder material strong enough for someone to squeeze and for the air to enter inside again

Creating a practical WEARABLE product

sketches3

  • designing jewelry, how can this product be worn?
  • a multitude of balls and bubbles
  • three main ones could puff and pop
  • how would they be attached to the wrist?

Problems:

  • how would you refill the balls once the powder runs out?
  • would you need a “pipette” to refill?
  • should I make replaceable balls sold as a packet?
  • how will the balls be attached and replaced?
  • how will i create this puff ball on small scale?
  • can this product be made in a week?
  • will it sell and be reproduced easily?
